Rain fell on 14 to 20 days and MetService issued just one heavy rainfall watch for the region.
North Egmont received a mere 53% of its normal October rainfall with 416.5mm, while Duffy’s Farm, near Whareroa, recorded 116% with 117.5mm. Only four sites recorded above normal rainfall: Kahui Hut (102%), Te Kiri (102%), Whareroa (116%) and Charlie’s Clearing (105%).
Year-to-date rainfall ranges from 72% and 116% of normal, with an average of 93%. Six sites are above normal to date: Motunui (107%), Tongaporutu (100%), Te Kiri (101%), Manaia (101%), Whareroa (116%) and Pātea (112%).
